Do you realize that one of the easiest ways to begin making easy cash on the web is to do affiliate marketing. Many entrepreneurs begin their internet business by doing “affiliate marketing”. It is a great way for a newbie to start!

Affiliate marketing is basically a relationship between an independent marketer and a vendor. The marketer promotes a vendors product or service in exchange for commissions for the completed sale. This can occur online through banners and ads on web-sites (why do you think services like hotmail and myspace are free?), – as well as through the sponsored links you see in search engine results.

Basically you – the marketer – post advertisements for a product. The advertisements are linked to products online; and when a potential customer follows the link and purchases the product or service, you get paid a commission for referring the customer to the product vendor.  It’s that simple!!

There are numerous ways to promote products – web-site banners, cost-per-click ads, article/ blog submissions, classified ads, etc. The methods that have no direct cost are the most time consuming and take the longest to develop results. Those that produce the most immediate results have a higher direct marketing cost.

Cost-per-click (C.P.C.) advertising is the most effective way to see immediate results, either through direct advertising or driving traffic to your web-site where you promote numerous products. There are a lot of techniques to learn to run a C.P.C. marketing campaign. Learning how to set up a campaign and tune it to where you have a conversion ratio high enough to result in making a profit over your advertising expenses can be a costly lesson to learn the hard way. For that reason, I recommend using a program to teach you how to do this.

There are oodles of products out there to teach you the basics of affiliate marketing.  One of them I have long used and recommended – Ewen Chia’s,  The Seven Super Principles of Affiliate Marketing. You’ll notice I have it listed over in the side bar on the right under Resources.

Another good one is called Confessions of a Lazy Super-Affiliate. I am attracted to material that just gets to the point and isn’t full of hype. Also, another one I like is The Affiliate Cash Book. This little book is filled with helpful material and is not expensive.

Affiliate Marketing can be done on your own without help; – but you must be careful not to let the costs for your Pay-per-click get out of hand.  If you don’t know what you’re doing you could spend too much before you begin to make any money.  And, as I have posted previously, the other thing you might waste is your most precious commodity – TIME.
