China has wanted to open up Tibet to the western world and they have built a railroad all the way from Bejing to Lhasa, the capitol of Tibet.  Lhasa is a ‘holy city’ to the Tibetan Buddhists and is the city where the Dalai Lama has lived for centuries.

Traveling on the new railroad and visiting the beautiful city of Lhasa was quite an experience.  The altitude and the snow-capped mountains make a beautiful setting for this unique city.   The colorful people and handsome buildings were exciting to visit and the many shoppes stocked with local goods of all kinds made for a wonderful tour.

This is a picture of the magnificent Potala Palace, the home of the Dalai Lamas.  It was interesting to walk through it.  Since the Dalai Lama has been in exile for 50 yrs now, this palace is like a big museum.

I was anxious to share this personal note with you and let you know why I have been gone for a while.

Now, I am back home – and eager to get back to business, sharing ideas about how to make easy cash on the internet.  I hope you will come back often and check out all the ideas I have on this blog.  I am going to keep on offering news about good opportunities, giveaway events and traffic building ideas.

This dreadful storm did lots and lots of damage to our house, barns and trees.  It will take us possibly a year to restore what can be restored – and, of course, the beautiful big trees can never be restored.

However, we praise God that no one was badly hurt or killed in this very severe storm.  It caused us to recognize again what things in life are important.  Storms, of one kind or another, are always going to come our way in this world; and how we deal with them is crucial.  We must acknowledge how blessed we are and be grateful for our life and our health – and the opportunity that comes with it to work again to regain, if need be, any of the “stuff” that was lost.  How fortunate we are!!

There are a number of reasons for that.  First, of course, is the fact that it gives me an opportunity to gather all the family together for a celebration of love and mutual support.  There are not too many times when the entire family can assemble and enjoy each other, as well as get caught up on family news. In addition, it is a special pleasure to enjoy a great, sumptuous meal which is always more luscious than our everyday fare.

Primarily, however, I love to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving because it gives us an opportunity to be reminded of the first Thanksgiving and to rejoice in the wisdom, integrity, determination and fortitude of those first Pilgrim Americans.  They were folks of unusually strong character and moral fiber who had the resilience and true grit to confront unparalleled hardship and deprivation and establish a colony in this New World.

We must always remember, while thinking of this, Who it was that they were thanking.  Theirs was not a feast to thank the indians….nor was it intended to thank the Queen for sending them to this place….nor was it a party to thank each other for their part in their success.  This was a celebration of Thanks – giving to Almighty God,  Who had provided and protected and enabled them in their endeavor.

Let us be careful, during our Thanksgiving celebrations, to emulate these heroes and do likewise.  It is a great privilege to be able to set aside time to thank our Maker for the bounty that is ours – and it is incumbent upon us to teach our children Who it is that is responsible for the abundant blessings we enjoy.
