You’d never guess where I have been!!  I made a trip with my husband into the heart of Tibet.

China has wanted to open up Tibet to the western world and they have built a railroad all the way from Bejing to Lhasa, the capitol of Tibet.  Lhasa is a ‘holy city’ to the Tibetan Buddhists and is the city where the Dalai Lama has lived for centuries.

Traveling on the new railroad and visiting the beautiful city of Lhasa was quite an experience.  The altitude and the snow-capped mountains make a beautiful setting for this unique city.   The colorful people and handsome buildings were exciting to visit and the many shoppes stocked with local goods of all kinds made for a wonderful tour.

This is a picture of the magnificent Potala Palace, the home of the Dalai Lamas.  It was interesting to walk through it.  Since the Dalai Lama has been in exile for 50 yrs now, this palace is like a big museum.

I was anxious to share this personal note with you and let you know why I have been gone for a while.
